Most major airlines offer flights (many of them direct) from across the United States to Charleston, South Carolina (CHS).
Kiawah is a popular destination. We strongly recommend you book early.
1. You may book rental properties ($$) through Kiawah Island Golf Resort*, Akers Ellis, Sweetgrass Vacation Rentals, ESPM, Kiawah Exclusives, Kiawah Island Getaways, and Vacasa. We strongly encourage you to consider those options before VRBO or AirBnB; VRBO lists many of the same rental company properties for a higher price.
2. The hotel ($$$$) option on the island is The Sanctuary*.
Notes and *Discount Code:
A. If you stay at the Sanctuary or a Kiawah Island Golf Resort property, you can use the Kiawah Island transportation service to get to Turtle Point (welcome party) and the Ocean Course (wedding). For other properties, we will have separate transportation on the island.
B. If you decide to book through Kiawah Island Golf Resort or stay at the Sanctuary, we have a discount code. The instructions for using the discount code are below:
"To receive 20% off nightly rates on Kiawah Island Golf Resort villas and homes, or 10% at the Sanctuary:
•Guests who book online should note in the comments section that the booking is for the "Poorman-Hair Wedding, booking ID code 20759." Note that the discount will not automatically or immediately be reflected, as the resort must manually link the reservation to the wedding following the booking.
•Alternatively, guests may call 1-866-763-5056 for assistance with reservations. Guests will be connected to a reservations agent at that time. Guests should tell the agent that they need to book a villa/room for the Poorman-Hair Wedding or use code 20759.”

Description
Kiawah is an easy 33-mile drive from Charleston International Airport and can be reached in approximately 45 minutes.
Ride shares
Ride shares (e.g., Uber, Lyft) are plentiful at the airport but should be pre-scheduled for the return trip. Ride shares are extremely limited on the island as it is a private, gated island.
Rental car
Rental cars are provided at the Charleston International Airport.
Car service
Round-trip car service may be pre-booked through various companies, including SC Express, Island Transportation Services, Carolina's Executive Limo Line, Charleston Limo & Car Service, and more.
Guests staying at the Sanctuary or through Kiawah Island Golf Resort may also arrange airport transportation with the concierge at an additional cost.
Around the Local Area
Description
The local area consists of Kiawah Island and Freshfields Village. Kiawah Island has casual and up-scale dining options and plenty of activities, such as golf, pool, and spa. Freshfields Village, which is directly next to Kiawah Island, contains a grocery store, quick service restaurants, shopping, and a gas station.
Please note that limited public transportation/ride shares exist to transport guests from Kiawah Island to Freshfields Village, or around Kiawah Island. For guests not staying through Kiawah Island Golf Resort or at the Sanctuary, please consider renting a car to facilitate your transportation.

An exclusive service provided only to Kiawah Island Golf Resort and Sanctuary guests. Simply call extension 82900 to request a complimentary ride to other Kiawah Island Golf Resort properties. Please allow 10-15 minutes for service.
Wedding Events Shuttle
On-island shuttles will be provided for all guests to-and-from the following wedding events:

• Wedding on Friday evening
